PORTRAITS AND FIGURES

Portrait and figurative painting is a significant aspect of Tilda’s art practice with a basis in life drawing and portrait photography. This process often involves sketching from life with charcoal or pencil, and developed into oil or mixed media portraiture within the studio utilising reference images. Tilda combines abstraction and enjoys blending painting techniques such as oil over acrylic and spray paint to construct figures both representative of human form, and as evaluation of subjective reality.
